Search for New MHC CEO Is Underway

Posted January 30, 2019

A note from the Minnesota Humanities Center (MHC)’s Board Chair Bryan Ljung:

Dear friends of MHC,

We’re excited to announce that a nationwide search for the Humanities Center’s next CEO is underway!

After the retirement of longtime President & CEO David O’Fallon last November, the MHC Board of Directors refined what we are seeking in a new leader and retained the services of executive search firm Ballinger|Leafblad to lead this effort. After receiving input from staff, board, partners, and community members, the board and Ballinger|Leafblad drew up a position description that reflects the needs of the organization and the exciting opportunities embedded within this position.

From the MHC CEO position description:

Working with the Board of Directors, the new CEO is charged with ensuring the Humanities Center’s vibrancy, growth, and innovative achievement within a constantly changing environment. The CEO will exemplify strong vision and leadership, will embody creativity and curiosity as a leader, and will exhibit positive energy and personal and professional authenticity.

I am personally very excited about the process that is unfolding and the opportunity to bring new leadership to MHC. I look forward to learning what candidates can bring not only to MHC, but to all of Minnesota, to keep the humanities strong, vibrant, and innovative. I’m eager to explore how we can work together to continue to build a thoughtful, literate, and engaged society.

We encourage all interested parties to review the full job posting.

If you are interested in applying, please contact Lars Leafblad of Ballinger|Leafblad directly. We look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Bryan Ljung, MHC Board of Directors Chair
