In 2021, Minnesota Humanities Center collaborated with several institutions, scholars, and artists to host From Mountains to Lakes: Hmong Educational Forum. This year, Minnesota Humanities Center is proud to collaborate with Hmong Women Achieving Together (HWAT) to host From Mountains to Lakes: Stories of Hmong Women. Our first event was held in October and aimed at recognizing the perseverance and contributions of Hmong women in Minnesota since arriving to the US nearly 50 years ago. Following the gathering, HWAT hosted several intergenerational listening groups to identify stories and themes that are critical for community growth and on-going resiliency. Join HWAT board member, Dr. MayKao Hang and MHC Chief Humanities Officer MayKao Fredericks as they share the report and offer reflections.
