Support the Minnesota Humanities Center. Support thoughtful, engaged communities.

The Minnesota Humanities Center is a nonprofit organization that relies on your support to bring free and low-cost programs, exhibits, and workshops to communities statewide.

Every dollar you give underwrites programming that strengthens the social, educational, and cultural fabric of our state — fostering constructive dialogues that help break down barriers and increase empathy. In these divisive times, it’s more important than ever that we create a safe space for civic and civil engagement for all Minnesotans. With a donation to the Humanities Center, you’ll help ensure that these efforts continue to positively shape Minnesota today and into the future.

Do you have a donor advised fund? Please consider recommending an annual grant to the Humanities Center.

We’re grateful for the truly amazing partners and donors who support our work. Thank you!

Legacy Giving

Consider one of the following ways to make a legacy gift to the Minnesota Humanities Center:

  • Beneficiary designations: You can name us as the beneficiary (or a percentage thereof) of a Life Insurance policy, IRA or retirement plans, Annuity, or Charitable Remainder Trust.
  • A bequest of any size is a simple and impactful way to include the Humanities Center in your legacy through a designation in your will or trust.
  • A charitable gift annuity is a gift that provides immediate support to us while providing a fixed, annual income payment to you (and/or a beneficiary, if you choose) for life. A charitable gift annuity involves a simple contract between you and the Humanities Center and can be established with a gift of cash, stock or other appreciated assets.

Another way to support the Humanities Center during your lifetime is a gift of unneeded retirement assets from your IRA. The IRA Charitable Rollover law allows individuals 70½ or older to give up to $100,000 in a calendar year directly from their IRA to one or more qualified charities without paying federal income tax on the withdrawal.

We encourage you to consult a professional advisor (such as an attorney, accountant or financial planner) to determine the giving vehicle that will best meet your needs. Information you may need:
