Drawing on the power of the humanities, Veterans’ Voices changes the narrative of Veterans and honors their contributions to our cultures and communities. It empowers Veterans to speak in their own voices through plays, discussions, literature, and the Veterans’ Voices Award.

The Warrior Writers Workshop provides a safe space for Veterans to tell their stories using prompts and discussion about a variety of military issues and experiences. This workshop encourages sharing stories, opinions, and ideas for productive writing, reflecting, storytelling, and art-making.

Experience the healing effects of nature and camaraderie while exploring meaningful literature and mental health. This day-long event will include reflection time, conversations about selected readings, and moderately challenging hiking.

The Veterans’ Voices Award honors the outstanding work of Minnesota’s Veterans by featuring their personal stories. Through poetry, prose, essays, memoirs, and more, Veterans find their voice, process their experiences, and connect with others.
