Veterans' Voices Educator Salon
Thursdays, Aug. 8, 15, and 22, 2019 | St. Paul | Free
Participants of the salon will receive a $250 stipend for completion of the full workshop
REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT HAS CLOSED
This salon is designed for educators working in the humanities field at colleges in the Duluth and St. Paul areas who are interested in exploring war, remembrance, memorials, monuments, as well as past and present social issues facing their Veteran and non-Veteran students.
The number of Veteran students is growing in universities and while our country is still at war, much of society fails to mention the ramifications of sending its citizens to war without properly reintegrating its service members. The salon aims to bring important topics with real-world consequences into a more tangible, recognizable focus that can be taught in the classroom.
